More than furniture. It’s warmth, with stories etched into the wood.

From the studio to you: This is how our unique solid wood pieces travel to Switzerland

Our furniture is handcrafted from solid teak and acacia wood. To ensure your furniture arrives safely, we require streamlined logistics – from the packing table in the studio to the sealed ocean-going container and arrival in Switzerland. Here, we provide a transparent overview of our work.

1) Selection & Preparation

  • Each piece is checked, oiled and prepared for transport in our workshop.

  • Wherever possible, we source our wood from responsible, certified sources.

  • Before packing, we check the edges, surfaces and stability of the table legs/tops.

Final container inspection at night: Sealing before departure – everything secured.

2) Packaging in the studio

  • Protective layers: First, each contact surface receives a soft intermediate layer (foam/cushioning paper) to prevent the oiled surfaces from rubbing.

  • Edge protection: Areas vulnerable to impact are additionally reinforced.

  • Bundling: Large tree grate panels are stacked so that the weight is evenly distributed; anti-slip pads are placed between them.

  • Resource-saving: We use practical, partially reused packaging materials—functional instead of "gift boxes." This protects the environment and reduces costs.

Why no “original packaging”?
Our furniture is unique, not mass-produced and packaged in retail boxes. We package it individually and appropriately – the shipping fee covers the transport, and the packaging is free of charge for you.

3) Loading & Sealing

  • The goods are loaded into a high-cube container (9'6") . The extra height allows for large panels to fit safely and without pressure marks.

  • Heavy parts go at the bottom, lighter parts at the top – secured against slipping.

  • The container is then sealed and handed over for sea freight.

4) Sea route, customs & onward transport

  • The container travels by ship to Europe and from there by truck/rail to Switzerland.

  • Our forwarding company handles customs clearance and security checks.

  • Upon arrival, the container is opened and unloaded in our warehouse.

5) Entrance examination in Switzerland

  • Visual and functional inspection of each piece (surface, edges, minor rework if necessary).

  • Cleaning of transport dust, re-oiling/polishing of individual areas.

  • Only then do we plan the delivery or collection.

Arrival in Switzerland: Opened/to-be-opened container before unloading.

6) Security & Claims Reporting

Despite all the care, something can happen along the way. Therefore, the following applies:

  • Please keep the packaging and check the goods immediately upon receipt.

  • Report damage within 48 hours with photos (exterior/interior, packaging + affected area) – we will take care of repair, replacement, or settlement with the shipping company.

7) Delivery

  • Depending on your region, we can organize a suitable solution – from standard transport to individually arranged assistance with carrying and setting up. Just contact us.

8) Swiss shipping & free packaging/pallets

We work with Swiss-approved transport companies and offer domestic deliveries with pre-arranged delivery time slots.

Free packaging and pallets: To ensure safe transport, we reinforce shipments in our Swiss warehouse if necessary, repack them, and use Euro pallets or wooden pallets; this is at no additional cost to you.

Pallets can be recycled or reused; if you wish to keep the pallet, please inform the driver upon delivery.

If you require transport to higher floors or installation in a desired indoor location, please contact us in advance (a small labor charge may apply).

FAQ (short)

Why does the packaging look “neutral”?
Because we transport unique items. Practical, sturdy packaging provides better protection than decorative retail boxes and avoids waste.

Is the transport insured?
Yes. To ensure a smooth process, we need your prompt damage report with photos.

How heavy are the tables?
Solid wood is heavy. For large panels, we recommend two strong people and plenty of space when carrying them.
